Trust.
A delicate thing; an intangible thing.

How often have you been telling people, "Trust me. Its goin' to be fine. Trust me."
How much thought have you placed when saying that out?

Truthfully, trust is something special, something sacred; between you and your friend.
How often can you tell a friend, "I trust you."
Its something that cannot be build up over a day or two.

Trusting someone, a friend, a good friend, is believing that the person always has your welfare/interest at/in his/her heart.
To question your friend, "Can I trust you?" is simply to put it, putting a knife through the person's heart.

So please my friends, before you do something that you will very much regret, may I implore you to think carefully before delivering these blows to your friend, or someone that cares for you.

If you may have done it unwittingly, please... don't try it again. Your friend will forgive you.

It has became apparent to me this morning that I might have just over-stepped my "line", while trying to register issues with my friend.

To an extend that I have became upset myself too.. over issues that didn't concern me.
Why have things turned out this way?
Perhaps I should take a step back and allow my friend to explore the options.
Whether my friend succeeds or fails, I will always be here.

Perhaps I should have done this, way back...

But is this the right way?
Is this how it should be, even though I know that my friend would have made the wrong decision?

Ice Cooold Beer

Situated in one corner of Emerald Hill is Ice Cold Beer. It is located just off the overcrowded Orchard Road shopping district.

A decent spot for an evening's indulgence in beer and food... As the name suggests, the beer is at temperatures near zero Celsius. The bar was the first local to have ice tanks set into the main bar has glass frosters that chill the glasses to -3Â°C. And as expected, lagers dominate the menu.

Tired of the work in the office, a few of us decided to chill out after work to unwind from the office stress.

Ethan & Stanley were the first to reach at 1900H and they were conveniently seated just outside the main door. 15 minutes after, I arrived. Just before I could warm my seats, food came.

Yes, Food!

Ethan ordered a basket of Chicken wings, Fries and a pizza.

The chicken wings are prepared with some sort of mild shrimp paste and Chinese wine in the batter, which produces a really nice taste when deep fried in grease. Yummy!!

The pizza was not too bad either. Topped with prawns and cheese, the pizza was called the Ice Cold Pizza. I wonder if it was the signature dish?!

Junk Food without beer would be strange, thus on Ethan's recommendation, I decided to give Leffe Blonde a try. Leffe Blonde? You must be wondering what kind of beer this was.. (for non beer drinkers)

Leffe Blonde, widely available in Belgium and France, is not a difficult beer to drink. The after taste is light and it has that slight almond flavour..

If you come to Ice Cold Beer, you must get a dozen wings, a Ice Cold Pizza and a couple of Leffe Blonde or Brune. It's a great way to start your weekend after a long week at work.

L : "Do you want to join us for dinner?"
Jacq : "Nah, we are having sushi at home later!!"
L : "Can we join you??"
Jacq : "Okay..."

Armed with extra seaweeds and soya sauce, J & L came over to our place within an hour.
Just nice, the sushi rice and ingredients were ready for serving! What a timing...

For J & L, it was their first attempt at making sushi.
They came in different shapes and sizes, but overall I must say it was a good attempt.

For L, after tired go rolling the sushi, she decided to make some rice balls, using the japanese rice. My, my, it was quite an attempt as she ended up with 3 "Huge" rice balls. Thank goodness, she brought them home for her family, else I think that would have became our next meal!!

After dinner, while digesting, L decided to show us her dance videos taken in Dec 06, when me n Jacq were overseas. Although I didnt say it then, but I thought L did a pretty good job in all dance. It pity that I didnt save a copy of the video on my desktop.

Anyway, after all that fun, it was very nice of J to send L all the way back home. We hoped they had as much fun as we did!!

Looking forward to the next sushi making session, maybe before L flies off for studies??

Today is also the 3rd day of the IT Show @ Suntec City. Man! The crowd was sure crazy!
For me, I didnt spend my time trying to squeeze thru the crowd, but I landed up in Sim Lim Square (This place is as poisonous as the IT Show. If not, its worse!)

Anyway, I spend a good 5 hours plus there and guess what i ended up with..

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CANNEY!

This was the first year we were celebrating her birthday and I hoped she enjoyed it as much as we (Jacqueline & I) did..

We went to Hog's Breath (again) at Chijmes with some other friends from Divercity.... Thou it was kinda last minute, we still manage to round up some people to celebrate her birthday!

After dinner, we proceeded to Coscafe around the area for a drink... My, my... the waitresses were all dressed as maids! And one of them actually bleached her hair completely.. Yuckz, wasn't really appealing to me!

In any case, they were showing the Liverpool vs Sheffield United match.. Thank god! Liverpool were winners of 4 goals, courtesy from Fowler(2), Hyypia and Gerard!

Situated at CHIJMES and Holland V, Hog's Breath Cafe serves one of the most delicious steaks around town.. at competitive prices.

Well, its my first visit and I must say that I had a pretty enjoyable session, less the "noise" generated from the opposite table.

A standard serving of the steak is usually about 200g, but at Hog's Breath..

Each serving of the steak weighs at ~300g and for an additional $8.00, you will get the MEGA CUT @ 33% more. (That's for steak lovers! hehe)

Besides the food, it was great to meetup with some of the old-time friends, who had "disappeared" for a while.

Looking forward to my next trip to the cafe!

1st working day of a new working week....

For a start, getting to work now will not be easy, for there will be plenty of parents hogging the road, trying to drop off their kids to schools.. Damn, this means I have to start work earlier to avoid the crowd!

anyhow, the office is finally "alive" again..
Laughters, jokes, telephone rings can finally be heard after a long absence. I guess everyone's back at work after a well deserved break.

Tulip Hearts Day is Children's Cancer Foundation's annual fund-raising Event to be held on 3rd September 2006.

In true Tulip Hearts Day tradition, volunteers will be out in unity islandwide, raising funds through the sales of more than 100,000 handmade tulips to create awareness of childhood cancer.

Silk cocooned tulips will be sold at $2 each to help raise fund CCF. There will be approximately 14 colours to choose from. A "Boy Girl" handphone strap cum bookmark will also be sold at $5 each.

4 weeks of high intensity training has certainly draw the leaders of the 42nd AIOC closer.. Much closer than any one could have expected. For myself, it was really a "wake-up" call for me to work on my weakness.

From the technicalities of Ex EAGLE, to the scorching heat during Ex OWL as we navigate through the vegetation of SILVY locality, I was able to see my own weakness. Then who could forget Ex RATTLESNAKE, where we virtually covered every inch of southern Lim Chu Kang Hill. I guess no one could also forget the enemies, who were so ever active and "never say die" attitude.

Once upon a time in Singapore , there lived a happy couple, Mr & Mrs Ng with their 3 lovely triplet daughters; Elaine, Ena & Ella.

The 3 daughters were brought up in a prim-and-proper fashion and when they reached 20, their parents thought it was time to get them married. So, the parents found them the most suitable " leng chais" ( handsome guys ). They got married and were preparing to set-off on their honeymoon.

As "concerned" (more like "kay-poh") parents, Mr & Mrs Ng were curious about their daughters' first-night experience. So, before the daughters went on their respective honeymoons, Mrs Ng told them......" Your father and I want to know about your 1st night encounters and whether you were satisfied.

Write a letter to us, but so as not to raise your husbands' curiosity...you all must use a code-name to describe your experiences".

So, the excited daughters were off.

A week passed. Mr & Mrs Ng got the first letter. It was from Elaine.
They opened the letter and found the word "STANDARD CHARTERED". They immediately took the newspaper and looked for the Standard Chartered advertisement. "Ah! here it is!", exclaimed Mr. Ng. The motto for Standard Chartered was.... "BIG, STRONG & FRIENDLY" Mr & Mrs. Ng were happy.

A week later, they got another letter. This time it was from Ena. The content was simple. "NESCAFE". So, again they took the neswpaper and looked for the Nescafe ad. "Ah! here it is. "NESCAFE: PLEASURE TILL THE LAST DROP". Again, Mr & Mrs Ng beamed with joy.

Another week passed. A month passed. And another. There was still no letter from Ella. The Ngs became worried. Finally, the letter came. It was scribbled and could hardly be read, but Mrs. Ng managed to figure it out. The code-name was "SINGAPORE AIRLINES".

Why Singapore Airlines? Mr.Ng rushed to the nearest store and got a newspaper. He flipped the pages frantically. "Ah! Here it is!" Mrs.Ng grabbed the page and read aloud.

Before she could finish .THUMP!!!...she fell off her chair. The motto was... "7 TIMES A WEEK. 4 TO 6 TIMES A DAY. NON-STOP."

Its about 2030H and there's still no sign of them. Looks like they will be late again.

15 mins later, they arrived. But at that point of time, there were only 7 cars at most and amongst them, 75% are regular meetup ("standing in car park session") members. But what the heck!

And so there goes Miyako & Shige clicking away on their camera, trying to capture all the different types of Fit/Jazz here in Singapore.

Finally the H-Hour is nearing.. Feel so excited.

At 1835H sharp, me n jacqueline arrived at the Grand Hyatt and there they were waiting for me to arrive. The moment they got on, we had to find our way out of the massive traffic jam that was outside the hotel. Lucky for us, the cars were relatively friendly and we managed to make a U turn within 5 mins.

Brought them to Adam Road Hawker Centre for makan. Lucky there ain't much people last nite. Shige had the "ebi" noodles (that's how I put it across to him - its actually prawn noodles). To my amazement, Shige, as a jap, can really take chilli. He took a spoon full of chilli powder and poured it into his soup. Needless to say, he finished the entire soup. Miyako also had a taste of the Adam Road Nasi Lemak. So glad that both of them liked the food.

Next Stop, the primary objective of the nite: The Night Safari.

First, there were the giant cow tails hanging from the backs of buses and taxis. Now, 1,000 cutouts of cows in bright pink, orange, blue and green have sprung up overnight along expressways, Orchard Road and elsewhere.

The cows are part of a campaign to launch ComfortDelGro's advertising arm, Moove Media. The transport giant said it wants to be known as 'not just the people who move people, but the people who have fun doing it'.
